MobileLine Device Compatibility Checklist Before eSIM Activation
Check unlock status, EID, eSIM support, carrier compatibility, software, Wi-Fi access, and account recovery before paying for activation.
Confirm that the phone is carrier-unlocked
An unlocked phone can generally accept a plan from another carrier, subject to network and device compatibility. A phone can support eSIM and still be locked to the original carrier. Check the device settings and, when necessary, confirm with the prior carrier.
Do not rely only on the seller’s description, especially for used or imported devices.
Find the EID and eSIM settings
The EID identifies the embedded SIM hardware. It is usually available in the device information or SIM settings. Record the full EID accurately and confirm that the phone offers an option to add or download an eSIM.
If the EID is missing or the eSIM menu is unavailable, investigate the exact model and region before activation.
Check the exact model against the carrier route
A model name such as iPhone, Galaxy, or Pixel is not specific enough. Record the exact model number, operating-system version, current carrier, and country of purchase. Carrier support can differ between regional variants.
Update the device software before activation unless the carrier guidance says otherwise.
Prepare a stable activation environment
Use reliable Wi-Fi, keep the device charged, back up important data, and make sure the customer can access the email or QR code used for activation. Do not delete an existing eSIM until the new line has been tested and the consequences are understood.
Record screenshots of the successful line installation and carrier account details for support purposes.
Complete the handover and recovery checklist
The customer should receive the carrier login, account number, PIN, recovery email, billing information, renewal date, plan name, phone number, and port-out instructions available for the route. Store them in a secure password manager or business vault.
Test calls, SMS, voicemail, Wi-Fi calling, and selected account-recovery flows before treating the line as critical infrastructure.
